The next design for our seal sticker pack is the Ringed Seal!
Ringed seals have such beautiful patterns. It’s hard to pick out a “cutest” when it comes to seals, but ring seals might be it for me. They’re also the smallest true seal, which definitely ups the cute factor.

My sticker pack for October/November is the spookiest animals of all: Seals! Um, yup, that’s definitely right. Spooky. 😛
This cutie is a harp seal. They’re probably the most iconic seal species in Canada, but they’re often shown as white, fluffy babies. (SO CUTE!) I love the adults’ dramatic patterning, and really wanted to showcase it with this design.

Finally, here’s the full rainbow squids sticker pack! It’s so satisfying seeing them all together. I tried to keep a good spread of colours across all the designs so they’d be maximally rainbow as a set. I had a ton of fun designing all these squishy little squid bodies, and I hope that comes across in the finished sticker pack.

Of course, I couldn’t make a squid sticker pack without a giant squid! I’ve been obsessed with these guys since they were considered a cryptid back when I was a kid. Despite not being the largest squid in the world, they’re somehow the most iconic and memorable.

Continuing my little eye studies, here’s a parrot! Painting such a colourful animal in “natural” colours may be a little bit cheating, but this was super fun to paint. I really love how the highlight fades down over the pupil in the reference photo.

Here’s another adorable, round squid; the pyjama squid! They remind me of bobtail squids in their adorable body shapes, but their striking stripes really help them stand out. The stripes were a real challenge to design, but I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

Here’s a little study of a horse eye. I tried to keep the horse in realistic colours and just rainbow-ise the eye. I really struggled with the brown (I’m not used to lifting colours), but I think I managed to rescue it??
