2025 Mini Border Collie Rugs

Continuing my prep for the Spring Capital Art Sale, I’ve made these two mini versions of my latest border collie rug. This design is based on my smooth coated border collie, Nonoha, which is why they’re not drawn super fluffy. I’ve seen a lot of smooth border collies around Fredericton, so I’m hopeful these rugs will find some border collie fans!

Border collie people: Do you prefer classic black and white or red and white coats? My husband loves the reds, but I have a soft spot for the classic black look. It’s just so dignified! (totally unlike the dogs themselves)

Mini Kitty Rugs

Here are some new kitten rugs! This is my first time tufting out this design, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. Tabby cats are my favourite to create, and I’m glad others seem to like them the best, too. There’s just something so charming about stripes.

I’ve made these two little kitties for the Capital Art Sale starting May 8th. I know money is tight for so many right now, so I’m trying to focus on making lower-priced goodies. Everyone deserves something colourful and fun to bring them joy!

New Class Drop: Tufting a Mirror Rug

After a long delay, I’m thrilled to finally be releasing a new Skillshare class! This is an intermediate level class about adding a mirror to your rugs.

This class is perfect for anyone who wants to add more function to their wall-hanging pieces or who wants to add a bit of a surprise to their work. This is an easy way to add an extra level of interactivity to your work, which makes it super fun!

Thank you so much to everyone who supports my work by watching my classes. Please let me know if you have any questions or requests for future class topics!

Final Rug of 2024 – Big Scuzzy Cat Rug!

Here’s my last rug of the year (probably): Big Scuzzy cat! You can compare the level of detail next to the smaller rugs (with blue eyes) using the same design. I was able to do a lot of carving on the line work to make all the edges feel nice and sharp.

This is probably my favourite design of the year. I just love tabby cats so much, in general, but creating work of my pets is always super special and satisfying.

This rug will be available at the Capital Art Sale starting December 19th!

Large Boba Eye Cat Rug!

Here’s another large rug: Boba cat! I originally thought this design was too simple to use for a large rug, but I found it too charming to pass up. Who can resist a pudgy cat face with big, round eyes!

I did a bit less carving on this kitty than on my large fox rug, so the colour lines overlap a bit more. I’m not sure which style looks best. What do you think, do you like the jagged/overlapping colour lines better or the super clean cut lines of my previous post?

New 2024 Fox Rug Design!

Coming off the back of the mini fox rugs, here’s the full sized version! This guy is around 30” across, and I used the same pattern as my smol foxes. This guy was a breath of fresh air to work on. The big blocks of colour are so satisfying to tuft out, and I got some great practice carving the shapes to clean them up!

New Mini Fox Rugs Design

It’s pretty much an unspoken rule in our house that, if I create a cat piece, I need to create a fox piece to balance it out. So please enjoy these mini fox rugs! The one on the right feels especially puffy somehow, despite being the same design haha.

New Tabby Kitty Mini Rugs!

I’m swinging away from watercolours and back to rugs for a little while starting off with these twin kitty rugs! These mini rugs are about 16″ across, so just shy of holding my keyboard.
I love creating two pieces from the same pattern, because it’s so fun to see what makes each one so unique.

These little guys will be for sale at the Capital Art Sale here in Fredericton, NB this December! If you’re a local, be sure to mark your calendars for this amazing event!
