It feels so good to get back to painting after taking a break to tuft. It’s great how refreshing it is to have two such vastly different media to play with.
I decided to go with the same colour scheme as the common goldfish for this little fantail. I like how they contrast so much in shape with one looking very simple and lithe and the other looking very round and flamboyant.

This gorgeous kitty is a commission for one of my very first rainbow portrait clients! She wanted a portrait of her newest kitty in a similar style to her other two which I painted waaaaaay back when I was just learning watercolour and really leaning on ink work.
It was incredibly fun to create details with ink again. I’d really love to go back to exploring incorporating ink as a supporting element in my rainbow portrait, but we’ll see how far it goes.
