Continuing my little eye studies, here’s a parrot! Painting such a colourful animal in “natural” colours may be a little bit cheating, but this was super fun to paint. I really love how the highlight fades down over the pupil in the reference photo.

Here’s another adorable, round squid; the pyjama squid! They remind me of bobtail squids in their adorable body shapes, but their striking stripes really help them stand out. The stripes were a real challenge to design, but I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

Here’s a little study of a horse eye. I tried to keep the horse in realistic colours and just rainbow-ise the eye. I really struggled with the brown (I’m not used to lifting colours), but I think I managed to rescue it??

Of course, I couldn’t paint a squid sticker pack without my all time favourite squid, the bobtail squid! This little guy isn’t based on any particular species; I just love the pink and yellow colour combo haha! I love how these guys are so round and squat.
Here is my latest class! It’s all about using salt and masking fluid to create beautiful textures. This is a beginner level class, so it’s great if you’re just starting out and want to play around. Bonus points for getting a squishy space seal painting out of it haha!

Here are some orange tabby cats and blue tabby cats! These mini rugs are around 7-8” across. I was again focusing on getting the details even and clean at this tiny size. The eyes are always the biggest challenge at this tiny size, because there’s really no wiggle room before the eyes look skewed. I think this batch definitely turned out the best so far!
I’m retiring this design after this batch, so be sure to snag one of these guys if you really want this design.

This little cutie is a vampire squid! They’re a deep sea species, so they’re not super well understood. I love their milky eyes and wide, airy arms.

The sticker pack I’ll be working on this time is squids! This is a bigfin reef squid; probably the typical squid you imagine when you think of squids. I love these little guys’ sleek and fluid shapes.

This little Frenchie was a real challenge for some reason, but I’m really happy with how the design turned out. I love how Frenchies can go from absolutely focused to completely goofy at the drop of a hat. I hope I was able to capture some of their silly personality. And of course it’s my favourite colour scheme of pink and yellow haha!
