Micro Turtle and Snail Rugs

Here’s the last batch of micro rugs I’ve created for this year: Snails and turtles! I loved my original turtle so much that I decided to create a template and make some turtle friends. And the snails are just because I love snails. That’s my only excuse haha!

I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support local artists at the Capital Art Sale this year! Everyone I spoke with was stoked by all the support from the community. You all rock!

Cat and Dog Micro Rugs

These adorable little guys are more micro-sized rugs! I free-handed the tortie in some extra space I had around another rug, and it’s extra small at just under 6” on the longest side. I created a template for the two tabby rugs, but they ballooned a bit up to 7”. They feel a little hefty for tree ornaments, but they’d still be very cute wall decor! The puppers are also around 7” but are quite a bit lighter because of their shape.

The blue tortie is available for sale, but the blue tabby is a door prize at the Capital Art Sale running at 1111 Regent St. Today is the last day, so please be sure to check them out!

Mini Border Collie Rugs

Here are two small rugs of a border collie puppy! I really love the look of the orange border collie for some reason. These are the last two rugs I’ll be making from this design! I’m excited to create some new, smaller designs for next year.

These rugs are about 13” on the longest side and come with two D-rings attached for easy wall-hanging.

These rugs will be available at the Capital Art Sale running December 7-10 at 1111 Regent St.

Calico Rug

This is very probably my favourite rug I’ve created so far. I experimented a lot with carving the yarn after the rug was tufted and glued, and that gives this piece especially sharp, clean details. I also just really enjoy the balance of colours. This design was based off a kitty I met at Purrfect Cup a couple years ago. The little kitty found her forever home long ago, but there are always more kitties in need of loving homes.

This rug will be available at the Capital Art Sale, starting tonight, and running December 7-10 at 1111 Regent St.

Fox Rug 2022

It’s not a proper winter without some fox art! (Or at least, that’s what my husband keeps telling me.) I wanted to update my old fox design and hopefully create a slightly more friendly face for this foxy friend. This rug will be available at the Capital Art Sale running December 7-10 at 1111 Regent St.

Micro Turtle

I have to admit, I have a huuuuuuge soft spot for turtles. This is the smallest of my latest micro rugs, at about 5-6” long and about 2-3” tall. So smol! This little one also has a yarn hanger attached to the back, and is ready to hang out on a wall or tree. This little turtle will be available at the Capital Art Sale running December 7-10 at 1111 Regent St.

Micro Squid

Here’s a new type of rug I’m trying out: Micro sized. This little squid is about 6-7” in diameter, and I’ve even added a whip stitch border to help it look extra finished. I’ve attached a little loop of yarn to the back so it’s all ready to hang on a wall or tree! This little squid will be available at the Capital Art Sale running December 7-10 at 1111 Regent St.

Skillshare Class – Intro to Rug Tufting

Hello, lovelies! I’m so excited to announce I’ve just published my first ever Skillshare class: Rug Tufting Gun for Beginners – Create a Colourful Pet Rug.

You can use my referral link to get one month free of Skillshare and check out my new class for free!

I’ve been working on this for the past six weeks or so, and I learned a ton making it. I’m really proud of how it’s turned out, but I’d love your feedback on how I might improve or make the course more comprehensive and useful for beginners.

Hopefully this will be the first of many online classes. I’d love to do some rainbow watercolour tutorials soon!
