Small Tux Cat Rugs

I have a huge soft spot for tabby cats, but I wanted to show some appreciation for other kitties, too. My first ever cat was a tux with a blaze, and I still think tuxes are the most striking of kitties.

These kitty friends will be available at the Capital Art Sale, happening NOW until May 21st at 1400 Prospect St, in the Uptown Sobeys Plaza in Fredericton! Be sure to swing by and take a look at all the amazing work from local artists!

Small Red-Footed Tortoise Rugs

This is one of two new designs I’ll be premiering at the Capital Art Sale TONIGHT!!! (eee so excited!) I created this design to be a 30” rug, but I managed to squeeze it into a 15” rug without losing too much detail. I’m really pleased with this design and am SO excited to create a bigger version later.

These little tortoises will be available at the Capital Art Sale, happening May 17th to May 21st at 1400 Prospect St, in the Uptown Sobeys Plaza in Fredericton! Be sure to swing by and take a look at all the amazing work from local artists!

Mini Blue and Orange Border Collie Rugs

These little friends are a completely new design based on my youngest dog, Nonoha. She has such a puppy-ish face that I can’t help but make rugs based on her. These tiny rugs are 7” across and come ready to hang. They’ll be premiering at the Capital Art Sale, happening May 17th to May 21st at 1400 Prospect St, in the Uptown Sobeys Plaza in Fredericton! Be sure to swing by and take a look at all the amazing work from local artists!

Mini Orange and Blue Cat Rugs

These little kitties were another experiment to see how much detail I can cram into a tiny rug! They measure about 8” across and are created from the same pattern as my latest 30” rainbow tabbies! I had to simplify the markings a bit, but they turned out surprisingly well!

These tiny guys will be available at the Capital Art Sale, happening May 17th to May 21st at 1400 Prospect St, in the Uptown Sobeys Plaza in Fredericton! Be sure to swing by and take a look at all the amazing work from local artists!

Ink and Watercolour Tux Cat Portrait

This gorgeous kitty is a commission for one of my very first rainbow portrait clients! She wanted a portrait of her newest kitty in a similar style to her other two which I painted waaaaaay back when I was just learning watercolour and really leaning on ink work.

It was incredibly fun to create details with ink again. I’d really love to go back to exploring incorporating ink as a supporting element in my rainbow portrait, but we’ll see how far it goes.

Small and Mini Blue Cat Rugs

Just like the orange kitty rugs, these two are an experiment with scaling down my larger 30” rug design. I think the bigger blue kitty turned out the best of the four cats, but the little one is pretty darn cute, too. It’s amazing how a simple palette swap can change the whole mood of a piece.

One of these kitties has already found a home, but the other is available at RB Studio & Gallery here in Fredericton!

Common Goldfish Sticker Design

Our sticker pack for May/June is goldfish, as voted on by my lovely supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi! This little friend is a common goldfish. I wanted to really lean into their natural orange-gold colour while still adding a bit of rainbow flare. I’m really pleased with their little fishy smile!

The holofoil version of this little cutie is our Ko-fi exclusive reward for this month. If you’d like the exclusive jumbo, holofoil goldfish, please be sure to sign up for the sticker collector tier over on my Ko-fi page any time this month!

Small and Mini Orange Cat Rugs

This mini rug was a bit of an experiment. I wanted to see how the design would change if I adapted it from a 30” rug to 15” and 7” versions. I definitely had to simplify the markings for both of the smaller versions, but they turned out surprisingly nicely! I’ll definitely have to keep pushing the detail and see what I can do in these mini rugs.

Also goodness, I can never get this pink yarn to look right in photos! If you’re in Fredericton, please swing by  RB Studio and Gallery to see the true colours of these little kitties.

Bernese Mountain Dog Rainbow Portrait

I painted this beautiful Bernese mountain dog as a demo for my latest class on how I select colours for rainbow portraits, especially for animals with multiple colours. It’s so, so, so fun to paint tri coloured animals like this gorgeous pup!

Mini Duck Rugs

Here are two tiny ducky rugs! These little friends are around 7-8”. I’m not totally sure how I feel about these guys. The design is cute, but it’s not as brightly coloured as my other rugs. What do you think?

These two are both available right now at RB Studio & Gallery here in Fredericton!
