Okay, okay! This is the LAST TURTLE for real this time! I wanted to try painting something in natural colours. I like the outcome, buuuuut I still prefer rainbow haha. This little friend makes a super cute sticker, though!
It was my husband’s birthday earlier this month, and he requested a piece of his fox character, Lon, diving. Foxes diving is so hilarious; it really exemplifies “dogs acting like cats.”
I’ve been too sick this month to paint anything besides this piece (which is just part of being chronically ill), but I’m slowly chipping away at the video tutorial. I’ve invested in some new equipment that should, hopefully, make creating the next tutorial faster.
And after 6ish weeks of painting, here are all the rainbow turtles together! I’m really, really pleased with how these stickers turned out, both individually and as a set. The over-the-top colours make me happy, and I feel like they’re a huge step towards the kind of work I’d like to be producing.
Painted turtles are so fun to paint because of their flashy colours! The contrast between red and green is just so striking. It almost feels like cheating to paint these guys in rainbow.
This little friend is the last of the rainbow turtle sticker pack! It’s also the Ko-fi exclusive holofoil sticker for February. Please sign up on Ko-fi any time in February to get this little guy.
These turtles are sooo beautiful! Their intricate patterns are really mesmerising. I had a lot of fun painting this one and trying out new techniques to represent those patterns. I’d love to do a full painting of a map turtle one of these days.
I don’t know what it is about snapping turtles that makes them so charming and charismatic. (But ya’ know, from a respectful distance.) They remind me of dinosaurs so much more than other turtles, and their stompy feet are adorable. All that to say, I had a ton of fun painting this guy!
Red eared sliders are probably my favourite turtle. They’re just so gregarious. That flash of red on their faces is really fun to paint, too! I decided to go maximum rainbow on this guy and give it a rainbow shell.
Here’s my shop freebie sticker for this year! Tarts is all about apples this year. I really enjoyed painting this little guy. Besides being my brand mascot, he’s also just super fun to draw with his big, round head and tiny, noodly arms.
I’m actually planning to repaint this piece in rainbow colours to better match my other stickers. For now, this little guy goes out in every order from my online or Etsy shops!
Hello lovelies, and Happy New Year! I hope you’re all having an amazing new year so far. For my first post of 2023, here’s my latest sticker design: a rainbow coloured Eastern box turtle! I’m slowly re-creating my classic turtle sticker set as traditionally painted, rainbow turtles. It’s taking quite a while, but I’m really enjoying the process and outcome so far! The jumbo, holofoil version of this little guy is a Ko-fi exclusive and available only this month! Please be sure to sign up if you’d like to get one of these shiny friends for yourself.
Here’s the last batch of micro rugs I’ve created for this year: Snails and turtles! I loved my original turtle so much that I decided to create a template and make some turtle friends. And the snails are just because I love snails. That’s my only excuse haha!
I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support local artists at the Capital Art Sale this year! Everyone I spoke with was stoked by all the support from the community. You all rock!
